*** FAASV SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM ***

 

The Filipino-American Association of Stafford, Virginia (FAASV), encourages children of FAASV members to further their education beyond high school. Through the Scholarship Program, FAASV will provide funding assistance to eligible applicants.

 

The scholarship application is open January 1, to March 31, 2024. Attached is the application form. Please submit your completed form to FAASV at (faasvgroup@gmail.com).  Or send your application to the address listed below.

 

APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY:

1) Must be children of FAASV member (active member/membership DUES PAID); and

2) Must be Undergraduate, Post Secondary Vocation and/or Technical Training or Certificates

3) Shall submit the following information:

a) FAASV Scholarship Application Form;

b) Type-written essay (MS Word format), on a topic relevant to heritage and goals between 500-1,000 words, double spaced; and

c) Current school transcript(s); and 

d) Letter of recommendation from a community service organization or agency if the applicant has performed volunteer work.

 

SCHOLARSHIP WINNER SELECTION CRITERIA:

1) Scholastic Achievements; 

2) Extra-curricular activities; 

3) Active participation to the FAASV; or

4) Community Service; 

5) Essay; 

6) Financial Need.
